Analysis of planar waveguides with a thin overlayer and nonlinear cladding

چکیده
Abstract The aim of this paper is to analyse a planar optical waveguide with Kerr-type nonlinear cladding and thin linear overlayer separating the guiding core. results numerical calculations show that bistable behaviour waveguides can be easily controlled by changing parameters additional layer. analysis based on self-consistent iteration procedure which provides relevant dispersion characteristics limited physically stable solutions.
